Creating Investment Corridors that unlock regional opportunity

Wednesday 20 May 2026 - Wednesday 20 May 2026
3:00 pm - 3:45 pm
North East England Pavilion 14: Located in the Pink Zone on the Dockside and Dock Water, UKREiiF

This panel will highlight investment, regeneration and transformation opportunities that economic corridors can create for towns, communities and residents.

The reopening of the Northumberland Line, which has already surpassed one million passenger journeys, is proving the catalytic role rail infrastructure can play in unlocking growth and investment. This session will explore how the Northumberland Line and the proposed Leamside Line form the basis of a strategic economic corridor across the region with significant potential for investors, developers and occupiers.

The panel will highlight a pipeline of major investment industrial and residential opportunities connected to this corridor as well as emerging residential developments.

Bringing together public and private sector leaders, the discussion will focus on how improved connectivity, available development land and coordinated public investment can strengthen a regions proposition and accelerate the delivery of commercial space, housing and regeneration.
