Beyond the studio: Building creative ecosystems

Tuesday 19 May 2026 - Tuesday 19 May 2026
10:30 am - 11:15 am
North East England Pavilion 14: Located in the Pink Zone on the Dockside and Dock Water, UKREiiF

Cool places attract investment, but what makes a place ‘cool’? It’s the music, art and creative industries that drive culture and pride of place.

The North East’s creative scene is a connected one, where film and tv, publishing, music, fashion and more work together to ensure creative people have the opportunities to grow their careers here and shape the identity of the destination to the world.

And from a commercial perspective, new research, published by the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (Creative PEC) shows that the Creative Industries account for almost a tenth of UK firms classified as having ‘high-growth potential’, higher than 5.1% and 2.4% respectively for Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing.

Our panel of industry insiders will explore the importance of building key infrastructure assets around creative clusters to enable businesses to grow and thrive, and to attract further investment and economic growth.
